Present a mock brief operations blueprint built off of your college bookstore.
A blueprint of college bookstore may comprise of following activities
1. Identification of items to be kept in the bookstore after analysis and anticipation of current and future demand, with regards to their types, quality and quantity.
2. Identification of the source of procurement. Selection of suitable vendor who can fulfill the demand at lowest cost and with highest efficiency to meet the intended demand with desired service level.
3. Identification of inventory policy, as to what needs to be ordered, when and in what quantity after analysing forecasts and taking into account the seasonality of demand.
4. Risk assessment and its mitigation plan.
5. Identifiaction of the space, hardware, utilities and human resources requirements and arranging for them before start of the session.
6. Setting up of standard operating procedures of the store, training of resources, their scheduling, plan to address seasonality of demand, handling day to day procedures of store.
7. Cash management. Setting up of accounting and cash management systems and aligning it with organisation's policy.
8. Ensuring compliance with law of the land and any other regulations which the organisation may be subject to.
9. Detailing periodic auditing process for the store amd take corrective actions as needed.
