Define “transportation network” and discuss the network analysis problems that are interest in transportation engineering while explaining how the problems are interconnected. Discuss how the quality of a transportation network is assessed?

Solutions

Expert Solution

*transport network is model of routes linking the desired location or areas. A transport network of a region includes both economical and social connections.

the territorial structure of any region will have network of all its econoical interactions. implimentaion of this network has many condition that to be met before making any plan like investment problem, change in conditions, maintanance of the network connectivity.

various strategies have to be discussed and understood before setting of network, such as providing connectivity and access to a region, technological aspects making the connectivity more advantageous.

*quality of transport network is understood well by the number of passengers, loads, capcity of vehicles in a lane than by their main topology based on absence or presence of links. inequality between a region is measured by number of links between the nodes and related revnue generatd by the traffic flow. if the lmany locations have higher accesssibility in region than it has better productivity results.

if the traffic flow and structre is reorientated with a transportation level than economic integration will change,

efficiency of transportation network is represents its ability to support the flow during operation and meet other criteria such as saftey, spped, capacity. and efficiency is also related to resilience which is ability to support the disruptons while maintaning a level of service and connectivity.

ABSTRACT While there is a growing interest in infusing engineering into elementary classrooms, very little is known about how well positioned elementary teachers are to teach engineering. This study examined elementary teachers’ perceptions of and familiarity with design, engineering, and technology (DET). Data was collected from 192 elementary teachers using the “DET Teacher Survey”. While these elementary teachers thought teaching DET was important, they were relatively unfamiliar with DET. Years of teaching experience did not affect teachers’ familiarity with teaching...
