In: Chemistry
A) pH of Stomach : 1.2 to 3.0.This is because HCl is in process of digesting the food ( especially proteins ) and simultaneously, killing the pathogens from outside air or food. This acid is highly aggressive.
B) Both intestines have almost same pH of 8.0 or above. The body regulates the pH by causing diarrhoea by eliminating disturbing substances in case of fermentation or rotting.
C) pH of Blood in Arteries or Veins : 7.43 for veins.7.35 -7.45 for arteries. Blood in arteries is oxygenated at lungs and akready shed some CO2 for breathing. It is bright red in colour while blood in veins is dark red. Blood in veins is more acidic but very mild because buffer system of our blood greatly regulates any pH change.
D) pH of Blood in Alveoil Capillaries ( Lungs ) : 7.38-7.42. Blood carry CO2 to lungs.By altering concentration of CO2, lungs can maintain pH range. Oxygen diffuses from alveoli to blood and CO2 do the vice versa.
E) pH of blood in Tissue capillaries : 7.2. Content of CO2 and carbonic acid is higher in blood flowing in tissues than the blood lungs. Our cells releases CO2 which break sugars.
