Briefly describe the 3 signals involved in the activation and differentiation of a naive CD4+ T cell into an effector Th2 (T helper) cell.
The naive CD4+ T cell gets activated due to the secretion of IL-4 that activates this cell to become the Th2 T cell in the immune system. The activation response of the naive CD4+ T cell involves the interaction of the receptors with the receptor molecules like the major histocompatibility factors present on the surface of the antigen presenting cell. The interaction of these receptors along with the processed antigen in the major histocompatibility complex causes the activation of the cell signaling mechanism necessary for the activation response in the CD4+ T cell.
