Some sources of industrial vibration are:
WHIRLING- Whenever a rotor is mouned on a shaft .the centre of mass of rotor does not usually coincide with the centre of line of the shaft. As the shaft rotates,a centrifugal force acts on the shaft which bends the shaft in the direction of eccentricity. This phenomenon is known as whirling.Due to whirling ,shaft may fail.
Critical speed is the speed at which the shaft rotates violently.

When a shaft rotated ,it vibrates in the transverse direction due to whirling.Whirling is caused when centre of mass of the rotor does not alighn with the central line of the shaft which results in net centrifugal force in the radially outward direction.
6. A node in case of vibration in shaft is a point where the vibration is zero.
