consider the following reaction 2 Na+ 2 HCl= 2 NaCl + H2
Consider the following reaction: 2Na+2HCl→2NaCl+H2 How many mols of hydrogen gas ( H2) can be produced if you begin with 3.66 grams of each reactant?
2Na+2HCl→2NaCl+H2
no of moles of Na = W/G.M.Wt
= 3.66/23 = 0.16 moles
no of mole of HCl = W/G.M.Wt
= 3.66/2 = 1.83moles
2 moles of HCl react with 2 moles of Na
1.83 moles of HCl react with = 2*1.83/2 = 1.83 moles of Na
Na is limiting reactant
2 moles of Na react with HCl to gives 1 moles of H2
0.16 moles of Na react with HCl to gives = 1*0.16/2 = 0.08 moles of H2
