Develop a simple MIS (Management Information System) that consists of a simple database (a text file). The system manages to dynamically input record/data into the database. The data from the database can be sorted, searched and updated. User also should be able to add new records/data, remove any data and etc.
Here are some ideas of MIS that can be developed:
1. Hotel reservation system.
2. Students management system.
3. Payroll management system.
4. Bus/Railway/Plane ticketing system.
5. Clinic record management system.

Introduction:-

Reservations is the most important part of a hotel as it helps in increasing the bussiness and efficiency of the hotel drastically.It makes for the user and for the hotel very easy to operate on.There are bassically two types of people who visits hotel individual and groups. In the high season hotels mostly favour groups then individual as they are more stable. So the manager takes the decision on the basis of reservation which can be supported by a computerised reservation system which helps in taking decisions for allocating rooms and reservstions for the groups.

Computerized Reservation System:-

A computer or central reservation system CRS is a computerized reservation system which is used to store and retrieve information and to conduct the tarnsaction related to air,travel,hotel, car rental or such activities it was originally designed by the airlines to opearte likeway which was extended to travel agencies. They created a Global Distribution System GDS where the user can easily book air a well as hotel car bus and rail through GDS as their internet gateway. Though it's not always integarted

This computerized reservation system wass devloped through a process called System Developement Life Cycle (SDLC). It is a logical process used by a system analyst to devlop an information system including requirements, validation training, and user ownership.

For a Management system of hotel to be devloped it uses following informations:-

  • It should be able to keep the records of the guest and rooms alloted to them.
  • Customers should know the avalablity of rooms on a specific dates.
  • Nevertheless guests should be able to book rooms available online.
  • System should be able to generate a bill for the customer.

  • Date of check-in & Check-out

6. Facilities:-

  • Facility Id

  • Rate

7. Food:-

  • Product ID
  • Type
  • Rate

Relations and their description:-

  • Guests should be alloted room within check-in to check-out date. One guest can be alloted multiple rooms based on customers' requirement and agreement.
  • Guest must pay the wholsome amount of the bill
  • Guest should alloted facilities. one guest can use mulitiple facilieties.
  • Guest can oreder more then on efood item

Coclusion:-

Any MIS contains some statistic reports about the customer in hotel. These reoprts contain some information of the customer like name address etc which cannot be changed by adding or removing new feeds. Customer though will be allowed to change their user id and password.This statics does not give any information abiut the situation of room in hotel these informations are required to make the MIS workable.
