In the simplest sense, we can say that the main difference between a vision and a mission statement underlies in their use and assumptions as well as the fact that both are represented and accomplished in a different time frame. A mission statement can be used to understand what a company is doing currently, their day to day processes while a vision statement represents what they stand for, what it is they want to achieve it and what would it look like once they have. The vision statement is used as a tool for setting the organization's culture as well as provide the understanding of the working of the company while a mission statement can be regarded as a management tool which makes use of all the present variables in order to effectively represent what the company is doing right now to achieve their goals.
