Explain the differences between solidification cracking, HAZ cracking, hydrogen induced cracking, and lamellar cracking.
Why is a wide, shallow bead preferred over a narrow, deep weld bead?
Why do some cast irons of the same type have a ferritic matrix and others a pearlitic matrix?
Why are white cast irons considered unweldable?
page-3. do some Cast iron of the Same Why type have a ferritic matrix and other pearlitic matrix? Some Cast iron have ferritic matrix other have pearlitie matrix because in some cast iron annealing is performed and due to this Pearlite comes out as a precipitate and ferritic or ferrite left in that Cast iron hence that kind of cast iron have fornitic matrix. In the cast iron that does not have the method to came out pearlite out of it that kind of Cast iron have pearlitic matrix, because pearlite present in that basically spheriadal graphite Castin have pearlitic matrix. Ferntic matrix provide or gines greater deutility in Cast iron.
