* CONFLICT THEORY-
operational definition/ background knowledge -
conflict theoy is social psychological theory which focuses on the conflicts arises out of power, inequalities, distribution of resources etc.
definition of social Conflict-
Social conflict theory is a macro-oriented theory that views society as an arena of inequality that generates conflict and social change. such inequalities arises out of age, gender, race in the society.
Karl Marx is the 'father' of social conflict theory.
for example- societies are fighting for the unbalanced distribution of the resources like land, water, food, money etc which creates the conflict among them.
politicians are fighting for power cause of which society is also divided to support thier leaders.
* the strengths as well as the limitations-
the strength of this theroy is that it points out the factors which are responsible for conflict in the society.it helps to understand the view of society what they want or need.
limitations of this thoery is that it does not explain why people work together and cooperate. Conflict theory also misses by ignoring the micro level interactions and the individual.
this theory helps the educator to provide the eduction to students how education can help to reduce the social conflicts . it provides means of exercising social control within a given society.
