Social media has provided us an easy access to vast amounts of
information from around the world and connecting with people from
different cultures. It has also helped us to keep in touch with our
own loved ones as well. But we have also allowed, social networking
to over take our lives and we are literally addicted to it now.We
have to look at our phones and access our social network sites
everyday, and its become a habit now, which we keep doing.
Life would definitely change if there would be no access to
social networking,as it has become a part of our routine
lives.Initially it would be difficult, and we would feel kind of
lost and frustrated not having access. We might feel depressed and
anxious not having any access,as our connectivity with the others
would be lost,we wont be able to know whats happening in another's
life,we wont be able to see reactions of others on our posts, which
would be quite annoying.
But I guess this initial frustration would help us to lead a
much more simple life without having to seek validation from
strangers on social media and feeling depressed to see pictures of
your friends having the "perfect life",while you are just leading a
boring one.
Social networking has created a facade about people, who appear
happy and perfect in their posts and pictures, but no one knows the
reality. It has made us judgmental about people's lives and
characters. We dont know who the person is in reality, and we just
formed impressions about thm based on their social media
activity.
So,life without social networking, would be a new beginning to
rediscover ourselves by spending more time with ourselves, and also
connecting with our family members face to face rather than through
social media. We will talk more to each other, find new interests to
learn, focus on our physical and mental health, value relationships
more and lead a less complicated and judgmental life.It would be a
slow and tiring process, but the end result would make us more happy
and relieved.
