KFC uses democratic segmentation to implement strategies to serve the market and its customer according to their needs and wants. Undoubtedly KFC is one of the best servers for its chicken menu and has positioned the brand in consumers' minds, which is the crucial benefit KFC enjoys. KFC uses the same list to all its customers worldwide, which means its uses and differentiated targeting strategy.
KFC competitive advantage lies with the supply chain and distribution system it carries. KFC has the world's second-largest restaurant chain in 120 countries after McDonald's with nearly 18000 plus outlets, making KFC have a competitive advantage over other restaurant chains. The KFC distribution system is well settled up that it faces no difficulty while setting up and serving fast food in two different areas where there is room for growth and opportunity.
KFC majorly uses geographic and demographic strategy. Geographic strategy helps the KFC build the business into different locations and provide its services to its customers according to their needs and demand. At the same time, following demographic strategy KFC target market according to their audience or customers. For example, the KFC market includes both nonvegetarian and vegetarian segmentation.
As a critical thinker, there is no starting that KFC should eliminate because it is already growing in the market and has created a loyal customer base worldwide, but what can be implemented is that KFC price strategies should be revised. KFC can work on the pricing strategy where providing extra should not increase the overall price for a service that hamper the customer's budget. Working on it will surely increase the goodwill of KFC.
