Solutions

Expert Solution

1) The answer is

insulin, glucagon , adrenaline, cortisol, Thyroxine & GH

all the above hormones play role in glucose metabolism.

Insulin increase the blood glucose levels .

Glucagon decreases the blood glucose levels by converting glucose into glycogen.

Adrenaline increases the blood glucose levels.

Cortisol increases the blood glucose levels by converting proteins into gluce i.e gluconeogenesis.

Thyroxine play important role in gluocose metabolism.

GH also plays role in glucose metabolism.it counteracts the effects of insulin on glucose metabolism.

2)The answer is insulin.

Insulin plays important role in regulating glucose after absorption of a glucose load.

Insulin control the blood glucose levels, after absorption of glucose load . Insulin stimulate the cells to take glucose from the blood.it stimulate the liver cells ,muscle cells to take glucose .so insulin plays most important role in regulating glucose levels in the body.
