Schizophrenia is a serious long term mental disorder that
impacts on person's feelings, thoughts, emotions, behaviour.
Generally it occurs in men than a women.
The symptoms of schizophrenia: There have some
positive and negative symptoms in schizophrenia. These are
described in below-
Positive symptoms of schizophrenia :
- Hallucinations : Basically hallucination is a
perception of a person who beliefs that stimulus is present but in
reality the stimulus is absent. As a example, person can perceive a
particular stimulus (sound or light) that does not present in
reality.
- Delusion : Basically delusion is a mental
disorder, it is a wrong believe of a person. As a example people
can have a belief about someone who is harmful to her.
- Disorganized Speech: People
with disorganized speech have a problem of understanding speech.
Their feeling of expression is completely different from a mentally
healthy person, their sentences are very illogical, irrelevant and
complex.
Negative symptoms of schizophrenia : There are
some common negative symptoms of schizophrenia. These are like
:
- Socially issolated, lack of interest in social work or
interaction, lack of motivation.
- A high level of difficulty in focus a particular thing.
- Inattentive, illogical thoughts and etc.
Causes of schizophrenia : There are some major
causes involved in schizophrenia. These are described in below
:
- Genetic cause : Parents who have long term
schizophrenia, their child have high risk of possibility to affects
in schizophrenia than a other parental child. Therefore gene factor
is a major issue to determine schizophrenia.
- Obstetrical complications
at child birth : Obstetrical complications at
child birth can cause of schizophrenia. An obstetrical
complications involved with retardation of fetal growth, inadequate
oxygen during child birth, mother's diabetes, prematurity and
etc.
- Infection of central nervous system in childhood
: Infection of central nervous system in childhood can
cause of high risk of schizophrenia or other serious mental
disorder.
- Extreme trauma in childhood : A clinical
research found that extreme level of trauma in childhood can
increase high risk of schizophrenia. These are like:
- Parental death or parental divorce
- Sexual violence or emotional abuse.
- Accident or serious event
- End of a relationship etc
These experiences can cause of high risk of schizophrenia to a
child in their early childhood.
- Consumption of drug :Consumption of drug can
indirectly helps increase the risk of schizophrenia. Some
particular drugs like cocaine, amphetamines and etc can increase
the risk of schizophrenia and as well as people who recovered from
schizophrenia, if they again starts consumption of drugs then
symptoms are again arise.
Therefore these are the major causes of schizophrenia. These
possible factors are involved with this mental disorder.
