How do you Plot a Bode Phase Plot

1. how do you graph a pole

2. How do you graph a zero

3.How do you graph a pole at origin(what does that mean)

4. How do you graph a zero at origin.

Please illustrate 1-4 on a graph. indicating which is which please

Solutions

Expert Solution

1) For a pole, the phase contribution of the pole to whole phase plot remains 0 degrees up to 1/10 the break frequency then drops linearly down to -90 degrees at 10 times the break frequency.

break frequency= 5 rad/sec
so the plot can be drawn as follow-

2) For a zero, the phase contribution of the zero to whole phase plot remains 0 degrees up to 1/10 the break frequency then rises linearly to 90 degrees at 10 times the break frequency.

break frequency= 100 rad/sec
so the plot can be drawn as follow-

3) For pole at the origin, the phase contribution of the pole to whole phase plot remains -90o
so the plot can be drawn as follow-

4) For zero at the origin, the phase contribution of the zero to whole phase plot remains 90o
so the plot can be drawn as follow-
