2. Save construction time. Precasting of structural elements can be done simultaneously with other works on site which saves time. No waiting required for curing.

3. Prestressed members can be are precast structures.

4. Ecnomic. Prescast structures are cost effective as very judicious control of material usage can be ensured. It also reduces formwork on site.

5.Aesthetics : Precast structures are made in factories, which ensures smooth finishing. Precast members can be made in any shape with precision .

6. Precast concrete can be made in any weather , unlike cast in situ structures.

7. Prescast structures generally have good fire resistant, noise proofing etc.

Disadvantages of Precast structural elements:-

1. Transportation of large precast structures will cause problems.

2. They are difficult to handle due to its huge weights and sizes.

3. Connection of precast me ers is difficult.

4. Special arrangements( cranes and super towers ) are required to install precast members.

5. Very skilled workmanship required
