Please elaborate and type put answer if possible.
Pregnancy is divided into phases. These phases are called the "trimesters" known to last for 12 – 14 weeks each with several developmental events. The trimesters are divided into Gestational Ages.
In the Gestational Ages of the first trimester, ovulation is the event taking place about 11 – 21 days from the first day of the last period. On conception, the sperm will penetrate an egg, thereby creating a single set of 46 chromosomes called a zygote, the first form of a new human being. When the blastocyst will fix into the uterine lining, the embryonic stage will result. Fetal development takes place, and at 10 weeks, the fetus has grown to about 3 inches in length. It weighs about an ounce. The creation of genitalia into male or female takes place. The eyelids of the fetus remain closed. The fetus is known to create a fist. The buds for baby teeth is visible. The head of the fetus has developed nearly half the size of the entire fetus.
In the Gestational Age of the second trimester, the fetus’s skin is transparent. A fine hair called lanugo develops for creating the head. The fetus has reached 6 inches in length. It weighs about 4 ounces with the development of fingerprints, sweat glands, and meconium in the intestinal tract and the production of fluid secretions in the liver and pancreas. There is also the development of eyebrows and eyelashes. Tiny nails start to develop on the fingers and toes. A white pasty substance called the Vernix covers the fetus’ skin to guard it against the amniotic fluid. The fetus has reached a length of 8 inches. It weighs about 12 ounces. In the final stage of the second trimester, the liver and pancreas start to develop completely.
In the Gestational Age of the third trimester, at 38 weeks, the fetus is fully developed, that is, all the organs are developed. It is important to note that the lungs keep maturing until the delivery of the baby. The fetus is about 19 – 21 inches in length. It weighs between 6 ¾ lbs and 10 lbs.
