Increase inmedian age of a population or an alteration in the age structure of a population ,so that elderly persons are increasingly represented within a country s overall age structure.thus the source of population agening is rising life expectancy and decline fertility

• As our life expectancy from birth increases ,then our population as a whole gets older .the proportion of people who are over retirement age is increasing and therfore the median age of population is also increasing
