Why is business continuity planning so important? Identify several reasons why testing the plan is a good idea.
Let’s understand this through an example.
I work with Royal bank of Scotland as financial analyst, located in New Delhi India.
Out client RBS based in United Kingdom. For the entire process and work they are totally dependent on Delhi team. Delhi being an earth quack prone area, it is very important for the management to have a B plan in case of any catastrophic event happening in Delhi. Many process and task which are critical in nature must complete within the stipulated time frame.
To tackle with the situation, there is another work location which is based in Mumbai has been stablished, so that in case of any emergency the work could be transferred to another location.
This plan is called Business continuity plan.
The reasons to have a BCP are as follows
