Why is it important for organizations to have a business continuity plan in place?
You will never know when your business is going to be shut down either by physical or man made disaster. So you should definitely be ready with your continuity plan.
Reasons:
1. To become self-evident
2. Strong competition in the market
3. It's better to have a fire extenguisher in your office
Let's take an example of fire.
You're running an office that has 10 employees working under you
and it's your responbility that everyone working with you should be
happy in every moment he spent in your office but wait... how do
you make sure about it that he's happy or not. To grow your
business, you need to better take care of your employees so that in
case of some emergencies you can handle it very well.
Imagine that on one midnight, your office fires up with short
circuit and luckily you and your three colleagues were there to
watch that scene and the best part is that you don't have any fire
extenguisher.
What should be in your mind? Should I order a new one right now?
Probably not.
Well if you have thought of the business continuity then probably there must be atleast one fire exteguisher in your office so that the office which is completely burnt and your data that is available in your machines, folders that too burnt can be get back to you.
I give you a very general example so that you can understand
it.
Always be prepared when it's someone time. That's what business
continuity planning is.
Hope you understand, Thanks.
