What are the pros and cons of having a more diverse workforce? Is the United States in a better position to compete globally because of its diverse population?
The pros and cons of diversity in the workforce are many. The rewards that a business gets with diversity are:
· The people get into a more accommodative atmosphere where the culture is neutral as the diversity makes it such,
· Diversity makes the business have the knowledge of the market in a diver one for example the UK to be able to compete.
· The ideas and the market or audience wise targeting gets an edge with diversity in the workforce,
· Diversity makes the business capable of having the needed need assessments done with more ease over a non-diverse structure.
The cons are:
· The adjustment of new personnel in the business may be difficult to make the business diverse,
· The diversity needs many pre-caution has to be taken which in the history has shown have affected the business .
· The inter-team communication may have some trouble as the diversity may block the understanding and assessments due to barriers of language.
The US has a diverse group of people who are from various locations of the Globe. So the diversity of US businesses is very well suited to be successful. Further, if the business of the US wishes to expand itself this diversity would help the business. the organizational culture is developed with the best of intents for the best of gains. The US with its diversity is thus in a good position to accommodate and use the strengths of diversity in the business.
