Identify two significant external factors that might influence ones work if they serve in a leadership or management role in social work. Explain why these external factors are significant and how they might affect ones work as a leader or manager.
Leaders are a great influencer and motivator for the other employees. But according to the sociological analysis leadership can be affected by the external factors. These external factors can also affect the work and duties of a manager or leader.
Two external factors
Current Economical and political factor- A leader needs to be educated about the recent economical policies and. An effective leader is always conscious about his social organization’s economical fund and about the other current factors.(Johnston & Marshall, 2013)
Sometimes a social organization needs to depend on the high economical fund to achieve the goal of the organization. A leader needs to do the proper planning to arrange that economical fund for his social organization. Otherwise Lack of economical knowledge and lack of economical planning can affect the work of a leader .So we can conclude that economical factor is a external factor that might affect the work of a leader.
Culture of the Social Organization- Organizational culture is mixture of the organization’s founders, workers, past leaders and present leader. Culture of the social organization can’t be changed by a leadership of a single leader. As the culture of an organization is associated with some long-term information, traditions, rules and ethics so a leader is unable to change the whole culture of an organization. This is the external factor that might affect the work of a leader.(Künzle & Grote,2010)
