3. What are the blood vessels of the body? Give brief details about ONE type. Give only the essential information.
Blood vessels are found through out the body and it is the part of circulatory system. The two main blood vessels are arteries and veins.Arteries carry blood away from the heart.Other blood vessels include arterioles, capillaries and venules. The main function of blood vessel is to transport blood through out the body.
Vein is a type of blood vessel that carry blood back to the heart which is low in oxygen to reoxygenated..There are mainly four types of veins
Superficial vein
deep vein
systemmic vein
pulmonary vein
Superficial vein
It is very closer to the surface of the skin.Corresponding arteries will be absent for superficial veins.
Deep veins
They can be seen deep within the muscle tissue.Corresponding areteries are present for deep veins.
Pulmonary vein
These veins carry oxygenated blood from the lungs to the heart. There are mainly two pulmonary veins.Right pulmonary vein and left pulmonary vein.
Systemmic vein
Systemic veins carry deoxygenated blood. These veins are present throughout from neck to legs including trunks.
