Aspects of a Team:

  • Trust among team members – Trust is foremost thing to come within team members, else progress towards team success will be limited
  • Learn to commit to decisions and plans of action- without consistency and agreeableness on a set of tactics or plans to carry out required operations and with their commitments, the team will not succeed
  • Focus on achieving collective results- profitability is a critical goal of a team can only be achieved by working together with, priorities and time commitments, not individual goals or benefits

Characteristics to identify of a Team:

  • Effective Decision Making- team members allowed to express emotions/ thoughts/ suggestions results in increased participation and work performance
  • Balanced Participation- climate of participation, individual responsibility to carry out some task matters a lot
  • Valued Diversity- it is must to avoid any conflicts/ bias among team. It is for healthy relationship between team members, valuing each others’ cultures/ languages/ life and way of working
  • Managed Conflict- team should be fostered to avoid and manage any personal and professional conflicts arising during any business operations. It reduces stress and improve individual efficiency
  • Defined and set Roles with Goals- purpose to understand the short & long term goals and vision of the team. It is crucial to understand where the team is headed, with Key performance areas and key performance indicators for each. It is good to understand each others’ job function and for team leaders and managers to tap into the skills and talents of group members to utilize them to achieve the mission
  • Open and Clear Communication- it helps to keep a team informed and focused. Hearing, interpreting, conveying information to others, make the team work perfectly with no time or effort loss

How and Why to reward team work:

  • Making the team aware of team goals and team milestones is an effective way of achieving business targets on time and with efficiency required. Plus it is a motivation to work of themselves and team
  • Don't ignore the individual, rather focus on one’s strengths and weaknesses to optimize individuals and whole team
  • Reward the act, as well as the outcome with R&R ceremony, parties, Momentos etc. to keep up the good work going and motivation to those who perform less
  • Reward by giving permission to speak freely, share ideas and suggestions. Individuals should be reminded of their value in the company and team
  • Say thanks/ appreciate the good work in private/ public, like it should really mean and value them
  • Reward by providing new opportunities to learn
