Substantive assessment methods are widely used in organizations to decide which internal candidates will become finalists or hold the next position. These tests take into consideration various factors like seniority and experience, job knowledge test, performance appraisal, promotability ratings, and many more.

Situational Tests: These tests are conducted to know the decision making power and response of the candidate in a hypothetical situation.
Integrity Tests: It is a kind of psychological test designed to assess an applicant's honest, trustworthy, and dependable in an organization.
