Substantive assessment methods are widely used in organizations to decide which internal candidates will become finalists or hold the next position. These tests take into consideration various factors like seniority and experience, job knowledge test, performance appraisal, promotability ratings, and many more.

Following are some tests that are conducted to finalize the candidate in Substantive Assessment Methods:

Personality Tests: A personality test is a method to assess human personality in the organization. it is designed to measure the characteristic patterns of traits that employees exhibit across various situations. It is something that we informally assess and describe every day.

Ability Tests: Ability tests, also called aptitude tests are regulated methods of assessing an employee's performance in different work tasks and situations. They basically measure potential rather than just academic performance and indicates how employees will perform in a work setting.

Situational Tests: These tests are conducted to know the decision making power and response of the candidate in a hypothetical situation.

Integrity Tests: It is a kind of psychological test designed to assess an applicant's honest, trustworthy, and dependable in an organization.
