Trace the path a molecule of water will travel from the renal artery to the toilet bowl. Indicate the blood vessels, Nephron structures, Kidney structures the water molecule will travel through.
Answer
Path for water molecule from renal artery :
- The water molecule travels in blood through the renal artery
and enters the kidney.
- It is filtered in glomerular capillaries and enters Bowman's
capsule as filtrate.
- When filtrate enters terminal part of collecting duct is known as
urine.
- From medullary region of kidney, urine enters renal papilla at
the end of renal pyramid.
- Through the structures such as calyces and renal pelvis it runs
through the tube called ureter into the bladder.
- Urethra transports urine out of the body.
