Expert Solution

Gaia hypothesis is all about the complex system of the earth which states it as a self-regulating body that regulating its whole system. It is done by the different stakeholders of the earth which fix the errors in its ways and its systems such as atmosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere, and biosphere acts according to maintain the ecological balance and make it for life and livelihood. The earth in its way indeed makes things fit for life on earth. Some of the pitfalls of this hypothesis are as follows:

  • It does not consider human activities responsible for the decline of its natural world
  • It looks at everything as it is done by the earth itself that is the larger pitfalls of this hypothesis and ignores the climate change and other human activities that affect the planet severely.

The earth indeed regulates its system but human activities such as industrialization had greatly damaged the ecosystem of the planet and many more.

Yes, I think that the earth and its spheres change over time and it is due to the interaction between different spheres of the earth and it is affected both by the natural discourse as well as human activities.
