Cheating means acting in a dishonest manner to gain advantage on something. Cheating by students is a reflection of their environment. Cheating is not a good thing. It is like a crime in students life. Students who cheat can have various reasons to do it. The main reason behind cheating is not doing good in their studies which can also have its own reasons.

Cheating do not just effect the present of the children but also the future. Some students develop cheating as a habit which can have big consequences in the future. Students who cheat may be able to get good marks for small test or assignments but affect the students who are working hard to get good grades.

The possible reasons behind students who do cheating are bad company, problems in family, addiction towards vedio games or probably drugs, fear of parents etc. We think that students cheat just because they didn't study but some times parents create pressure on students to get good marks due to which students in fear take wrongs paths in order to achieve the goal. Probably it is easy path to get good marks.

Students that do cheating should be punished. There is a big stigma that punishing students for cheating is the only way to make them better. But some times it is very important to know what is actually going on in students life. But if the student is found guilty then punishment can be given -

1. Giving more homework, not allowed to play sports or other small punishments to help them learn their lesson.

2. Counselor - if a student is cheating then, students should be given counselling, it can have better effect on them without punishing them. It can also help to know if student is under any pressure from parents for studies or any other stress in their life.

3. Probation - Some students are very insincere about their actions. They are like bad company for other good kids. If they do cheating, it is important to punish them otherwise, it will promote other children's to do the same. Suspension from college or academic probation from school is a strict punishment. So, that student will learn the cheating does not end good. It is an offense which should not be committed.

3. Permanent record - students who don't learn from their mistakes and repeat the cheating knowing that it is not a good thing can end up getting dismissed or expelled from the school. It will become a permanent record on there academic which can affect their future probably in the selection in good college & jobs as well.

Cheating affect the life of student who is doing it. His present and in some cases their future as well. It also affects the other children's around the student who cheat. It is not good habit for anyone and end up in facing consequences.
