It is described as using other author people's creation and ideas with out accurate citation.

What is self plagiarism?

It is known as a kind of plagiarism where the author resuses his own work for a future creation which is already published and read by many.

"Is self plagiarism a form a cheating? Why or why not?"

Well the answer is "no". It cannot be considered as cheating since the author reuses his own work. It's also known as recycling the fraud or duplicate publication.

Examples of self-plagiarism

-Reuse of ideas and data from your degree thesis and applying them in your master's thesis.

-copying and pasting portions or the entire paragraph from an old or recent assignment to a new one.
