China is a extremely large country and the customs and traditions of its people vary by geography and ethnicity. More than one billion people live in China , representing 56 ethnic minority groups. The largest group is the Han chinese with about 900 million people.
Other groups include the Tibetan, the Mongols, the Manchus, The Naxi and the Hazhen, which is the smallest group, with fewer than 2000 people.
Norms are the most intrigued and part of a culture there. China have some norms like, they eat in large tables with lots of food, they order a lot of food together and share with each other.
Many families in china want atleast one boy in their family. There was a law in China, if you have more than three children you need to pay taxes for that.
In China, many families do not allow their children to date before they graduate and focus on studies.They are taught to value education over everything else.
Another norm is to keep citation to a minimum when walking in the streets, parks or subways.
Cultural norms can have an effect on communication, different cultural norms may cause for misunderstanding.
In order to understand someone else's cultural norm you must stay open minded and not expressed judgement in your communication.
