Make another list of the substances that do not. Are there any advantages for using a non-selective process in producing filtrate? Are there any disadvantages?
Urine formation begins with glomerular filtration, which is a non-selective process in which fluids and solutes are forced through a membrane by capsular hydrostatic pressure.
Water, sodium ions, bicarbonate ions, nitrogenous waste, nutrients and glucose do pass through the filtration membrane.
Hemoglobin, a protein found on erythrocytes , albumin, platelet and blood cells not normally pass through the filtration membrane.
