Solutions

Expert Solution

For any marketer the major advantages are building the connect with the people at the location especially if it happens to be a local site. The second advantage could be the development of a new market and gain first mover advantage if the product does not yet exist in the market. The third gain would be the proximity to the customer and bridging the gap between the supply location i.e. manufacturing site controlling the cost and the distance to the customer.

Seti @ home ; Justgiving are the earliest examples of crowdsourcing on the web. The deep search engines, getting user data enables reaching out to a larger customer base and source . This enables the virtual crowd building which is analogous to guerilla marketing.

The building block for the crowdsourcing is the idea/ concept for which the crowdsourcing is being done. If the same is applicable for the generation of vitual crowd through online channels, it should be a concept of interest.
