How would describe intervention in a organization?
Introduction
Intervention refers to the actions taken by people to improve something. Interventions in organisation refer to various activities and tasks that are taken up by the individuals in organisation to improve their task performance. Interventions are set of planned strategies that are designed to improve the organisational effectiveness. It helps in the development of organisation in a planned and effective way.
Purpose of interventions in organisation
Enhance productivity – Interventions bring necessary changes in the organisational operation efficiency which will enhance the overall productivity.
Improving effectiveness – Interventions improves effectiveness of members as well as whole organisation. It depends upon the extent to which these changes meet the needs of organisation and how much change it will bring.
Various interventions that are adopted in the organisations
Focus on Team Building – In order to improve the overall culture of organisation, team building activities must be taken up which will reduce all the conflicts and difference among the group member. If members of organisation will work in a group with good communication they will surely enhance their performance level.
Development of employees – In organisation there must be activities which will enhance the skills of employees. This also includes taking feedback from employees, sensitivity training which increases their tolerance power, skill development training, goals improvements, performance appraisals, etc. This will increase their efficiency and effectiveness of doing work.
Expansion – Expansion of the business organisation is a very good intervention. This strategy can include merging into some other business, acquiring any other business, opening new branches worldwide, etc. This will ensure the growth of company.
Conclusion
Interventions are the planned activities which are taken up to improve the overall growth and development of organisation. Changes are necessary in every organisation and if changes are the part of planned strategies it will bring good results for organisation. Some Interventions are only internal to the company and that can bring changes in employees which increase their efficiency or effectiveness of performing their tasks but that is ultimately beneficial for the organisation. However some interventions are external that will have a direct impact on organisational development. So, Interventions helps in the organisational development and growth.
