What are the source and destination IP addresses
Source IP is the IP (Internet Protocol) address of the device sending the IP packet (the IP unit of data transfer).
Destination IP is the IP address of the device to which the packet is being sent.
In two-way communication, packets flowing from Host A to Host B and back again will have:
Host A -> Host B : Source IP address = Host A’s IP address; Destination IP address = Host B’s IP address
Host B -> Host A: Source IP address = Host B’s IP address; Destination IP Address = Host A’s IP address.
Imagine it like letters being sent back and forth. Or an exchange of emails
Source and destination MAC addresses
In most cases, you can follow this procedure to locate your MAC address: Select Settings > About Device > Status. A WiFi Address or WiFi MAC Address displays.
