QUESTION 16

  1. Would you be agreeable to work on the development of an intelligent machine if it cannot be guaranteed the machine's actions will be benevolent?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Answer)
Machine learning and AI - Artificial intelligence is the technique which is responsible to program and administer the intelligent behaviors in a machine such as computers and other things which can implement the computing and technology. Now, what do we understand that the machine's actions will be benevolent as such? The thing is when the machines are developed, they have to benefit some party.

A machine cannot benefit itself, thus when we develop an intelligence machine it can be used both for good or for bad. Thus we cannot restrict technology or growth based on the fear of losing it to the wrong hands.

Thus, we can agree on building any intelligent machine, and even if it cannot be guaranteed about the machine's actions, we should try to make them and use them for and as good. Thus, we have to develop an intelligent machine which can support and benefit for humanity's good. Thus, yes, we can work on the development of the intelligent machine even if we do not have any guarantee.
