Expert Solution

1. Several trends started to create impact in the workplace. Some of them are:

AI and Advanced Machine Learning:

These include technologies like deep learning, neutral networks and natural-language processing. These can encompass more advanced systems which understand, learn, predict, adapt and operate autonomously. The existing system can learn and change future behavior leading to the creation of more intelligent devices and programs in the workplace.

Intelligent Apps:

Intelligent Apps includes Technologies like Virtual Personal Assistants (VPAs) have the potential to transform the workplace by making the tasks easier (Eg: Prioritization of Emails) and its users more effective (Highlighting important content).

Intelligent Things:

Existing things like Internet of Things (IOT) devices act as Intelligent Things delivering the power of AI enabled systems everywhere in the workplace. The intelligent things communicate with one another in a collaborative manner to accomplish tasks.

2. The trend that will soon create its own impact in the workplace is Digital Twin. Billions of things will be represented in the form of Digital Twin in the coming years. This is a dynamic software model of a physical thing or a system. The digital twin can be used for the analysis of data and simulate real world conditions, respond to changes, improve operations and add value. Digital twins function as proxies for the combination of proxies and traditional monitoring devices and controls. Digital twins of physical assets combined with people, businesses and processes will enable an increasingly detailed digital representation of the real world for simulation, analysis and control.

The trend that creates an impact in personal life is Conversational Systems which range from simple informal, bidirectional text or voice conversations to complex interactions such as collecting oral testimony to crime witness. In this, the computer hears and adapts to a person's desired volume. This enables the people and machine to use multiple modalities to communicate across the digital device mesh i.e., sensors, appliances, IoT systems. This is helpful in operating home appliances in case of home automation.

3. The trend is Virtual and Augmented Reality (VR & AR). These transform the way individuals interact with each other and with software systems creating an immersive environment. VR can be used for training scenarios and experiences. AR can enable a blending of the real and virtual worlds, i.e., businesses can overlay graphics onto real- world objects. Immersive experiences with AR and VR are reaching tipping points in terms of price and capability but will not replace other interface models. AR and VR expand beyond visual immersion to include all human senses. Many educational institutions and organizations are already offering VR as a way for engaging into teaching and learning. This technology can be translated to svhools and universities for enriching the learning environment and performance improvement.
