Expert Solution

Path-goals theory suggests that the focus of the leader is to motivate employees by leading them in the right direction by analyzing their behavior and demand of the situation. The best part of this theory is that the leader is very flexible in selecting the leadership style according to the changing environment and employee behavior and expectations. It is the best theory he n the organization is working in a highly unpredictable and uncertain environment.

But this theory does not work in today's new millennium or where current technological, social/cultural, or political factors challenge the concept and make it difficult. The reason being is that in this theory, the entire power to decide and implement is in the hand of a leader, and employees are not allowed to give suggestions and even participation. As far as today's technological, creative, and innovative environment is concerned, employees joke to work in a team of creative people not under the guidelines of a leader with rigid plans according to the behavior of employees. This theory of leadership does not focus on empowering employees but means to achieve the ultimate goal of the organization.
