Fourth workout design – Knee Ligament Instability (5 points)
Your client is a 29 year-old man that tore his ACL, MCL, and medial meniscus 12 months prior while skiing. He had surgery to repair all three structures 10 months ago, and has completed 3 months of physical therapy. His goals are to continue to strengthen his hamstring muscles (physical therapy), reduce the occasional swelling and pain he has in the knee, and he would eventually like to resume skiing (with a brace).

Give a 3 to 4 sentence explanation of why you chose this workout for this client.
An ACL injury is a tear or sprain of the anterior cruciate (KROO-she-ate) ligament (ACL). A medial collateral ligament (MCL) injury is a stretch, partial tear, or complete tear of the ligament on the inside of the knee. A meniscus tear occurs in the rubbery knee cartilage that cushions the shinbone from the thighbone. The meniscus can tear with forceful twisting or rotation of the knee. Timely, surgery is required for a improved functional outcome. Rehabilitation guidelines have been laid for patients who have undergone surgery and want to be back in their sport. According to those rehabilitation guidelines, as the patient has undergone surgery and had 3 months of physical therapy, he is now in phase IV of Rehabilitation. During this phase cardiovascular excercises, low velocity muscular excercises reaching to high velocity excercises and stretching are recommended. So, the above mentioned table of excercises have been chosen fro this patient or client.
