What is the greenhouse effect? What causes it?

Solutions

Expert Solution

As we know sunlight reach the earth surface ,and 70 percent of it used to heat the earth surface.which is also used for generation of solar energy. After that earth surface radiate the heat back to the atmosphere which help to cool the earth surface. But, the green house gas present in the atmosphere absorb them and the heat can not escape to the space.which ultimately result in global warming. Green house gas are generated due to human activity which create pollution and generate gas lake CFC ,SO2 etc. This phenomenon of global warming is caledc Green house effect.

Cause of Green house effect-

1.burning of fossil fuel which increase the percentage of co2 in the atmosphere.

2.deforestation is one of the major reason. As increase co2 need rich forest to recycle in to oxygen.

3. Increase population which result in increase industrialization, which cause release of more Green house gases.

4. Industrial waste and increase use of air conditioner.which result in increase amount of release of gases which cause green house effect.

The greenhouse effect causes an increase in global temperatures, which has contributed to global climate change. This temperature increase is due primarily to: a) CO2 and other greenhouse gases allowing more solar radiation to penetrate Earth's surface    b) CO2 and other greenhouse gases slowing the escape of heat from Earth    c) the loss of ozone that trapped cooling UV radiation in the atmosphere    d) CO2 and other greenhouse gases slowing the escape of UV radiation from Earth
