No, gender role and behaviour are definitely highly correlated with gender identity. They are not the same but are correlated. Gender identity refers to the sex that an individual is born in; male, female or transgender. Gender role refers to the role that the society expects a man or woman to fit within. For instance, expecting the woman to cook and do the regular chores while the man is the breadwinner. Gender behaviour is wherein an individual whose gender identity is female from birth, but feels very masculine from within, but cannot express themselves because the of the cross questioning by the societal norms. We are expected to be a certain way inorder be accepted by the society. If a girl shows more masculine qualities, it must not make her question her gender identity. However, that would lead her to gender identity confusion. She feels a certain way, however, she is expected to be a different way due to societal norms.
