What is a trademark?
What is infringement?
What is a copyright?
1. Trademark is a unique symbol, punchline, phrase or something which can be associated with a brand or item for distinguishing it from other brands or items and provides it legal protection against copying or other forms of infringements. The example of trademark is the iconic apple symbol or the Golden arcs of Mcdonalds which make it easily distinguishable from other brands.
2. Infringement is an act of illegal copying or using an intellectual property of a business or brand without taking due permission from the owner of intellectual property, for business gains. an example of infringement is copying of a popular copyrighted hollywood track of a famous artist by a regional music director from an asian country to produce a very similar song and using the popularity of original song to sell it.
3. Copyright is a form of protection granted by US constitution to the pieces of intellectual property, which might be a book, a song, a dialogue, phrase, a symbol or anything which is genuine creation of the owner. The item should be tangible in nature and can either be published or unpublished. Copyright is a protection against infringement by unauthorised use or copying. For example a new tune by a musician or a novel dance move by a dancer can be protected through copyright.
