There is no copyright in website as such but a copyright helps to protect some elements of the website which are listed below:

  1. Website/business idea: Business idea is unique for everyone so its very necessary to take care of that so that we have to protect that idea with copyrights. So that no one can initiate the same idea.
  2. Text: Text of the website is protected by the copyright.
  3. HTML: HTML code is also protected by the copyright.
  4. Software code: In today’s world the entire website is based on some software coding so it’s necessary to take copyright to protect the coding from others.
  5. 5.Databases: Most of the websites are backed by the database such as MySQL. Database is also protected by the copyright because there are lot of information in database is stored.
  6. Logos: Logo of the website is also protected by the copyright.

There are some more elements which are also protected by copyright like Illustrations and photographs, Music and video, Brand names etc.
