The “Three Legged Stool” is viewed as the foundation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Describe each of the three legs, specifying each leg’s major component(s). Discuss how some of these components support others. What would be the impact on the ACA if some components are eliminated or weakened?
Affordable Care Act is a health reform act which is reacted in 2010 which have 3 primary goals such as
I. To make affordable health insurace available to more people. The law was aimed providing peoples with subsidies which is government provided discount for households with low level income.
II. Expansion of medical aid program to cover all adults with low level income .
III. Support innovative medical care delivery method designed to lower the costs of health care generally and to bring it to an affordable rate
This act provide low cost medical service to people falling in or below poverty level which also contribute towards human development index of the country and building a strong network of public services,create employment opportunities for skilled and semi skilled medical workers and practitioners
If some of the elements of the ACA will be eliminated it will push the social development program of the country backward which can result in poor human development index (HDI) which is a development indicator, and the countries medical and health care system will be weekened.
