Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) are an experiment of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) that will affect reimbursement across most outpatient areas in particular. and discuss what strategies providers may need to implement in ACOs to maintain cost effectiveness with this potential system.
Accountable care organisations are group of doctors, hospitals an other health care providers who come together voluntarily to give coordinated high quality care an to ensure that patients get the right care at the right time, while avoiding unnecessary Duplication of service and preventing medical errors.
Strategies to maintain cost effective treatment
1) Testing new payment and service delivery practices, including quality payment program.
2) Evaluating evidence based results and advancing best practices.
3) Engaging broad range of stakeholders to develop additional models for testing.
4) To periodically test improvement in care delivery and payment.
