The regulations leads to protection of disease-causing pathogens. these rules protect from Giardia lamblia,Legionella, and Cryptosporidium. If water is contyaminated by some then by using these rules we can regulate and protect against contaminants that can form during drinking water treatment.

By using surface water treatment rule, we keep long term for different schedules.

The surface water treatment rule are necessary for water systems to filter and disinfect surface water sources. Some water systems are allowed to use disinfection only for surface water sources.
