How does ethnicity affect health? Be specific and give examples.

Ethnicity refers to a group of people who have certain race, traits, beliefs, religion and nationality in common. They identify with each other. In other words, we can say that in a ethnic group or ethnicity a group of people people share some common traits, religion, beliefs, race, and nationality.

One important question is that is ethnicity affect health. This is very deep concern, I want to put my opinion here that yes, ethnicity affect health.In any country there are people who belong to certain ethnicity. They have their own way of living. They don't want to leave their laws. They have to suffer for that for example when an ethnic group has certain religion related beliefs they don't want to go beyond that. Muslims have a month of Ramadan , so they keep fasting for one month, they don't eat anything in daytime, even when they need some medicine. These kind of rituals affect the health of those people who belong to that ethnicity.

When we take an example of poor socio- economic group, people from low socio - economic ethnicity are not getting proper health care in any country. Although government tries to give all health services to those people but because of some mediators these services don't reach to them.

Some ethnic group of any country have their language concerns. They communicate in any other language and when they reach to any hospital language becomes a big hurdle for them. They can't communicate well, they can't express their concerns properly, so they hesitate to go for health care services.

People from some ethnicity follow vegetarian diets. For example Hindu and Buddhist follow vegetarian diets, they don't want to take any medicine which has any non-vegetarian component. These things impact their health.

With above description we can conclude that ethnicity affect health. Ethnicity limits the possibilities of reaching health care services to its people.
