1. My management core competencies are planning and delegating, deep listening, conversing, and co-initiating. It is important to note that a manager needs to make others in his team productive by working smoothly. The better the team performs, the more efficient and effective the manager is assumed to be. Planning ahead for the task will eventually help in delegating tasks effectively to others in the team based on the skills and competencies of the individual members known to the manager. Important leadership quality is that a leader listens more than talking. He or she will give due value to what others in the team have to say or think on a particular problem. So, the leader will engage in deep listening and converse with the teammates regarding the issue. He will utilize the experience of the teammates and their insights to solve an issue. A leader will not act as the sole initiator of important activities. He or she will act as a co-initiator. It means that the leader will facilitate the initiation of activities by his or her teammates, thereby making them experienced in the art of problem-solving. As the teammates will be the active initiators, this will make the manager a co-initiator. All the above-mentioned management core competencies will help in sharing and dissemination of innovative ideas within the organization by the facilitation of teamwork and sharing.
2. Problem-solving regarding an "urgent shift" from what the organization was currently dealing with to something new, can be achieved by making the need for an urgent shift a part of company culture. This will keep the employees well-prepared to handle changes and demands related to the changes. Moreover, the employees will remain "shockproof" when urgent demands will arise. This calls for a diversified workforce or engineers to meet the engineering demands in an unforeseen situation. This again calls for a human resource management system that can quickly fulfil any workforce requirement. This requires the organization to have an emergency management systems in its HR department which can fulfil the emergency workforce requirements of the company.
3. Right behaviour for driving successfully a team is extremely important. An organization is not only driven by work skills. We live in a social world, where behaviour matters immensely. Behaviour helps to connect easily which is extremely important for an organization to stay productively active. Ill-behavior can lead to unproductive conflicts and waste a precious resource that's time. Right behaviour in terms of a gentle approach, responsiveness, timely communication, and maintenance of good work ethics goes a long way in staying connected to the world with a good name and identity.
