In fact, when students identify their college campus as a nondiscriminatory environment, underrepresented students feel a greater sense of belonging and majority students show greater support for the university’s diversity efforts.

Every individual comes with different experiences, abilities and needs, inclusive learning environment nurtures individual potential of all learners Students who perceive their campus climate as inclusive and nondiscriminatory show greater willingness to accept intellectual challenges. For example, women who feel that they fit into their science, technology, engineering and math classes are more likely to actively participate in the learning process and classroom discussions.
