One pint (US) of mineral water= 473.176 ml or 0.473176 Litre
And 1 litre= 2.1133 US pint.
Density of pure water is 0.99823 g/cm3 at 1atm at 20 degree celcius.
1ppm = 1mg/Liter of pure water at STP( Standard temperature and pressure)
For, Calcium 28ppm= 27.94mg/L
Fluoride 0.08ppm= 0.0798 mg/L
Magnesium= 14ppm = 13.9748 mg/L
Potassium =3.3 ppm = 3.294 mg/L
Sodium = 16ppm = 15.971 mg/L
Calculating the amount of each component present
For calcium: simple cross multiplication
27.94 mg - 1000ml
? - 473.176ml
That will give = (27.94 mg× 473.176 ml)/ 1000ml
= 13.220mg for 1 pint
For 3 pint it will be 13.220mg×3= 39.66mg.
Another method is : divide 27.94mg by 2.1133 US pint which will give you 13.220mg/pint and multiply this by 3, that will also give the same answer i.e 39.66 mg for 3 bottles of water.
Similarly for Fluoride 0.08ppm= 0.0798mg/L
0.0798mg/ 2.1133 = 0.0377 mg for 1 pint
0.0377mg× 3 bottles = 0.1132 mg . Hence 0.1132mg of fluoride component is present in 3 bottles of water combined.
For magnesium: 14ppm= 13.9748mg/L
13.9748mg÷ 2.1133 = 6.6127 mg for 1 pint
6.6127×3 bottles= 19.838 mg. Hence 19.838 mg of magnesium is present in 3 bottles combined.
For potassium : 3.3ppm= 3.294mg/L
3.294mg÷ 2.1133 = 1.5586 mg for 1 pint.
1.5586× 3 = 4.6760 mg. Hence 4.6760mg of potassium is present in 3 bottles combined.
For sodium: 16ppm = 15.971 mg/L
15.971 mg÷ 2.1133= 7.5573 mg for 1 pint.
7.5573× 3 = 22.672 mg. Hence 22.672 mg of sodium is present in 3 bottles combined.
Finally Components obtained :
Calcium - 39.66mg
Fluoride - 0.1132mg
Magnesium- 19.838mg
Potassium - 4.6760mg
Sodium- 22.672 mg.
