What are the main issues associated with marketing to children? Has Hasbro crossed any ethical boundaries?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Most companies that produce children's products are notorious for aggressively advertising, and marketing in general to children, this issue is not restricted solely to the toy industry. Food, beverage, and financial security institutions are diving even deeper into the marketing campaigns specifically targeted children indirectly, but more focusing on the parents of the children. Form the understanding of the reading most young children are unable to process most of the kind of information that they receive from commercials. Most government agencies are ensuring and confirming that children are not exposed to marketing they cannot handle emotionally and physically. For example, the smoking ads that target the underage people were made illegal in Western countries. I do not see how Hasbro has crossed any ethical boundaries because has strict guidelines and laws by which to advertise its products through cartoon style commercial. With that to determine whether it is unethical and lawful are few and far between, as long as no harm is committed this should not obscure the view of the end state for any corporation that target children and parents of children for product revenues.
